Stream Energy Expands Service in Pennsylvania and New Jersey
Firm adds residential and commercial meters across two states
DALLAS (April 9, 2013) – Stream Energy, one of the largest direct selling companies in the world, announced today that it has added residential and commercial electricity service in the West Penn Power (WPP) and Pennsylvania Electric Company (Penelec) service areas of Pennsylvania.
With this announcement, Stream Energy further expands a growing footprint in the Northeast. Specifically, the WPP and Penelec service areas combine to represent over one million electricity meters which are eligible for service. The company employs a wholly owned network marketing subsidiary, Ignite, through which it gathers energy customers.
Concurrent with Stream Energy’s launch of electric service in Pennsylvania, the company is now also providing commercial natural gas service to customers in the Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) service area of New Jersey. Approximately 163,000 natural gas commercial customers are eligible to switch to Stream Energy in the PSE&G area, where the company already provides residential electricity and natural gas service.
“We are excited to roll out our residential and commercial electric service in this new section of western Pennsylvania,” said Stream Energy Chairman Rob Snyder. “The addition of over one million electric meters in this area is something our Ignite Army can be very excited about. When combined with our new commercial natural gas service in New Jersey, our Igniters now find themselves with over 1.2 million new energy meters available for their customer switching efforts.”
Stream Energy has generated over $5 billion in total revenues and received numerous honors since its founding in 2004.
