Stream Energy Executive is Appointed to ERCOT Board of Directors
New Board Member Eric Hendrick Represents the Independent Retail Energy Provider Segment
DALLAS (August 9, 2011) – Stream Energy, one of the largest retail energy providers in Texas, announced today that Eric Hendrick, the firm’s Managing Director of Wholesale Operations, has been appointed to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas’ Board of Directors.
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) manages the flow of electric power to 23 million Texas customers – representing 85 percent of the state’s electric load and 75 percent of the Texas land area.
Hendrick has represented Stream Energy on various ERCOT committees and subcommittees for five years, which attests to the high regard that both he personally and Stream Energy collectively are held by their peers in the energy industry.
“We are pleased to once again have Eric share his considerable knowledge and industry talents in support of ERCOT and the customers of Texas,” said Stream Energy Chairman Rob Snyder. “Stream Energy has been a leading advocate for deregulation for over six years, and Eric’s ongoing executive relationship with ERCOT is a testament to the depth of his insight on energy matters.”
Stream Energy and its wholly owned subsidiary, Ignite, have revolutionized energy deregulation in Texas with a one-to-one consumer education model. Since receiving its PUC license in 2005, Stream Energy has grown into one of the largest providers in Texas, generating billions in revenue and being recognized by industry commentators as a leader in the retail sector.
