Stream Energy Chairman Rob Snyder Named Finalist for American Business Award
Nomination as Chairman of the Year underscores innovation and stability of rapidly growing retail energy company
DALLAS, Texas (May 12, 2011) — Stream Energy, the world’s largest network marketer of energy, announces that Chairman Rob Snyder has been named a finalist for the second year in a row for an American Business Award in the category of Chairman of the Year. Snyder was selected because of his role in launching Stream Energy and presiding over its phenomenal growth.
Rob Snyder has served as Stream Energy’s Chairman since the firm’s inception in 2004. As Chairman, Snyder piloted Stream Energy through its boldest and most strategic plans for growth during 2010 and 2011. The firm doubled the number of states it serves as a retail energy provider by expanding to the Pennsylvania and Maryland electricity markets, signing up more than 75,000 new customers in only six months in the new service areas.
The dramatic growth of Stream Energy and the continued success of its Ignite direct sales marketing force have propelled the company to more than $2 billion in total sales since its founding. Stream Energy generated $843.8 million in revenues in 2010 alone and has more than 482,000 customers in the deregulated energy markets of four states (Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Maryland).
Snyder is a respected figure in the energy sector, being named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year for the Southwest Region in 2008 and appearing with other key industry leaders on national and local energy panels. He also leads Stream Energy’s charitable efforts, committing the company to strong support of Captain Hope’s Kids, a nonprofit organization that has assisted more than 30,000 children of homeless families.
The American Business Awards, called the Stevies, were created to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of business people worldwide. Award winners will be announced in New York June 20, 2011.
