Since mid-2006, Brian Berend has overseen all load forecasting and scheduling for Stream Energy, in which role he oversees the placement of hedged transactions in an effort to optimize customer load factors. Beyond these responsibilities, Brian is also responsible for forecasting Stream Energy’s large retail electricity loads and also assists with various risk management functions.

Prior to joining Stream Energy, Brian had begun his career within the deregulated electricity industry as a Real-Time Energy Trader with Calpine Energy Services, Brian continued his tenure at Calpine by advancement to a new role as the Manager of East Day-Ahead Scheduling and Real-Time Operations, where he was responsible for all power schedulers for the Eastern Region and also managed the Real-Time operations of Calpine’s power generation over the entire Eastern Interconnect.

Brian holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance degree from Texas A&M University.
